Why Did YHVH Allow Such Darkness???
Critics of the torah-centered gospel will often remark that this doctrine cannot possibly be true because how could Yah allow His church to become so corrupt, so filled with darkness and so far removed from the Truth over the past 1700-1800 years? 1. First of all, the above question is not entirely built on a correct premise. While it is true that paganism did start seeping into christianity as early as the 2nd century, the Torah-observant Messianics were still a force to be contended with a good 300 years after Messiah resurrected. Even after the apostacy of the 4th century, the Torah-observant believers, though now a distinct minority, would continue to be recorded in history up until the 13th century. And, obviously, there was a tiny remnant from the 13th century until now though they pass from the pages of history, because there have been groups in the USA who have at least kept parts of Torah for the last few hundred years. 2. YHVH is under no obligation to protect "the church at large" from gross darkness, sin and ignorance if that "church at large" hardens her heart and desires a lie more than Truth. In fact, the ReNEWed Covenant even promises that if a man has not a love for the Truth, Yah will SEND a strong delusion that he might believe a lie. While it is true that the gates of hell have never overcome the true Bride of Messiah -- most of recorded history charts the apostate whore of a church, not the Bride of Messiah. When, in the 4th century, many Nazerenes and "the church at large" decided to compromise the Truth with that apostate Constantine in an exchange for no more state persecution, Yah sent such a terrible darkness upon "the church at large" that it would take the next 1600 years before all the bad doctrine would be finally exposed. But Yah, in His merciful love, DID HELP THE WHORE OF A CHURCH to return to her virgin roots, even as Yah strove with Apostate Yisrael in the Tanakh.
