HAPPY FEAST OF FIRSTFRUITS
Dear Saints and others, Happy Feast of FirstFruits and 6th Day of Unleavened Bread!!!! "Speak unto the children of Yisrael, and say unto them, 'When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the FIRSTFRUITS of your harvest unto the priest: "And he shall wave the sheaf before YHVH, to be accepted for you: on the morrow after the shabbat the priest shall wave it. "And ye shall offer that day when ye wave the sheaf an he lamb without blemish of the first year for a burnt offering unto YHVH. "And the meat offering thereof shall be two tenth deals of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering made by fire unto YHVH for a sweet savour: and the drink offering thereof shall be of wine, the fourth part of an hin. "And ye shall eat neither bread, nor parched corn, nor green ears, until the selfsame day that ye have brought an offering unto YHVH: it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings." Leviticus 23:10-14 "For as in Adam all die, even so in Messiah shall all be made alive. "But every man in his own order: Messiah the firstfruits; afterward they that are Messiah's at His coming." I Corinthians 15:22-23 2000 years ago, after the Messiah had been dead and buried for 3 days and 3 nights, Israel was preparing on Saturday evening, as the shabbat was coming to a close, to find their first shocks of barley harvest and bring those shocks to the High Priest. As he did every year, the High Priest would then, Saturday night, go into the Temple and wave the barley shocks before the Presence of Yah in the Holy Place. This was how the Feast of Firtsfruits had been celebrated every year. As shabbat was coming to a close, YahShua resurrected after 3 days and 3 nights. He rose on SHABBAT, NOT on Sunday as the pagan Christians think. On the morrow after the shabbat -- the Feast of Firtsfruits (a Sunday) was when humanity DISOCVERED YahShua had already risen from the dead. But, YahShua did do something very signifigant on Sunday morning -- the Feast of Firstfruits. He ascended to the Father and waved Himself as the firstfruits from among the dead. This is why YahShua told Miriam NOT to touch Him, because He had not yet ascended to the Father. No one was allowed to touch the High Priest until he gathered the barley shocks and waved them as the firstfruits offering in the Holy Place before Yah. If anyone touched him before he did this, he would be unclean and would not be able to go into the Holy Place. In the same way, Miriam was not allowed to touch YahShua early Sunday morning because even though YahShua had already resurrected the evening before, He had not yet gone into the Heavenly Temple and presented Himself as the Firstfruits Offering from among the dead to the Father. Last night, as the Feast of Firstfruits began, the 50 day countdown began to Pentecost. Torah commands us to count 7 shabbats, plus one day from the day of Firstffruis to calculate when Pentecost will occur every year. This year, because Firstfruits happen to fall today, Pentecost will be on 5/27, exactly 50 days from now. Firstruits and Pentecost are the ONLY two Hebrew Feast Days that ALWAYS occur on a Sunday every year. Because of what Firstfruits means and how YahShus fulfilled Firstfruits -- obviously the Feast of Firstfruits is the MOST IMPORTANT feast day on the Jewish calendar. Without the Feast of Firstfruits, none of the other feasts would have any meaning whatsoever. The Feast of Firstfruits is not even considered a shabbat. Like Passover, it is a work day because this is a day we gather our firstfruit barley harvet and take it to the High Priest. This is a commanded work day yet it is also the most sacred feast day for the entire year. If YahShua had not fulfilled this feast day, then our hope in a future resurrection of the dead would be in vain. Why are the two most important Feast Days -- Passover and Feast of Firstfruits work days? Because it took ALOT OF WORK on Yah's part to REDEEM humanity from the mess man had made for himself by rejecting Torah. I pray and hope all you saints have a VERY JOYOUS Feast of Firstfruits and then a wonderful High Shabbat which starts tonight and goes through tomorrow -- the 7th Day of Unleavened Bread. HallaluYAH! It's not every year that we have 3 Feast Days in a row! First the weekly shabbat, then Feast of Firstfruits and tomorrow the 7th Day of Unleavened Bread which is a commanded High Shabbat. Nice to have an extended weekend centered on Yah's death, burial, resurrection and ascencion to the Father -- followed by the day the walls of Jericho came a tumbling to the ground! If ever we have a long weeked to celebrate and party, it is this one! HallaluYAH! Love in YahShua and by His Torah, Apostle Daniel Yochanon Lee -- www.TorahandSpirit.com
